Creating a modified PDF alters cryptographic checksums and invalidates existing digital signatures. Keep your original signed document if legal signature verification is required. Document-level bookmarks and AcroForms may not transfer to sliced pages.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about PDF Page Extractor & Splitter, formats, and privacy guarantees.
How does UtilityHub extract or split PDFs without uploading my files to a server?
UtilityHub runs entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Document tree manipulation and page copying are performed in-memory via pdf-lib and dedicated Web Workers, while visual preview thumbnails are rendered via Mozilla PDF.js. Your document bytes never leave your machine.
Does page extraction reduce PDF text or visual quality?
No. UtilityHub does not rasterize your pages into images. It copies the raw PDF content streams, embedded fonts, vector graphics, and metadata directly between PDF documents, preserving 100% of the original vector sharpness and selectable text.
What page range syntax is supported?
You can specify individual pages separated by commas ("1, 3, 5") and page spans separated by hyphens ("1-4, 7-10"). The range parser strictly validates page numbers against the total document count, rejects descending ranges, and safely deduplicates repeated numbers.
How does Split Every N Pages handle uneven page counts?
When a document count is not evenly divisible by N (for example, a 12-page PDF split into groups of 5), the engine creates two 5-page documents (1–5 and 6–10) and an exact 2-page final document (11–12). No empty or padded pages are generated.
Why do digital signatures become invalid after splitting?
Digital signatures rely on a cryptographic hash of the entire original document file. Extracting or splitting pages creates a new document with different byte structures, naturally invalidating any digital signatures present on the original. Always keep your original signed document for legal verification.
Can I download all split files at once?
Yes! UtilityHub bundles all split PDF documents into a single ZIP archive client-side using pure JavaScript, allowing you to download all parts with one click.
